Browser Security #FAIL

kek | March 25, 2010

IE8, Safari, and Firefox fall at Pwn2Own 2010.  The only browser left standing was Chrome, but that’s because no one chose to target that browser.  I suppose Mac owners should not feel safe after all; however, the Win7 machine was only hacked in 2 minutes.

Finally got around to installing Win 7

kek |

One of the last things on my to-do list was to install Windows 7 on my desktop.   It took about 3 hours to format my hard drive, install the OS, and finally install the critical updates.  There is definitely a difference in performance.  For some reason, all the updates and drivers were just faster and smoother.  Maybe Microsoft is messing with me.  I’m just beginning to mess with all the functions, but so far, I’m pretty satisfied.

HTC EVO 4G Is a Monster (in a good way)

kek |

On Tuesday, Sprint and HTC announced the first 4G smartphone which will be released sometime this summer.  It is by far the best-specced smartphone announced to date.  Although the HTC HD2 is by no means less powerful, having Android and sveltier looks make this option very attractive.  The mobile phone has 480×800 4.3 inch TFT LCD screen, 1Ghz Snapdragon processor, 1 GB built-in storage, 512 Mb ram, and both front and rear-facing cameras sporting 8- and 1.3-megapixels, respectively. The phone also features HDMI-out, 802.11 b/g WiFi, and 8 Gb microSD card.  On top of that, it will run Android 2.1 with Sense UI.
